Statement of the Kurdistan Teachers' Union Regarding the Attack on the Residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region

The Secretariat Office of the Kurdistan Teachers' Union condemns and denounces the attack on the home of President Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, and demands that the perpetrators be identified and brought to light.

The Kurdistan Teachers' Union condemns the assault that targeted the residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region in Duhok Governorate. This attack constitutes a serious violation and a dangerous incident that threatens the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region and the surrounding area. We also call upon the Federal Government of Iraq to investigate the incident, hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law, and reveal the identities of the perpetrators.

As is well known, the Kurdistan Region has not been a party to wars and conflicts from the outset, and has always worked toward regional stability, peace, and coexistence. Therefore, we call upon all parties to work together to preserve national and patriotic stability, to not allow any person or party who wishes to further complicate the situation, and to fully prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
