Message of Solidarity on the 31st Anniversary of Eğitim Sen

The Kurdistan Teachers’ Union – Iraq extends its sincerest congratulations and highest regards to all the leadership and members of Eğitim Sen (the Union of Education and Science Workers) on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the union’s founding.

Since its establishment, Eğitim Sen has been a strong continuation of a long-standing trade union and democratic struggle. It has consistently and resolutely fought for free, public, scientific, egalitarian, and mother-tongue education, while maintaining an honorable stance against exclusionary and commodifying policies.

The Kurdistan Teachers’ Union – Iraq holds in high esteem Eğitim Sen’s pioneering role in defending teachers’ rights, democracy, human rights, and social peace, and regards our shared cross-border struggle and trade-union solidarity as a great value.

As we celebrate this meaningful anniversary of struggle, we once again emphasize our solidarity with Eğitim Sen and wish them continued success in their fight for the dignity of teachers, justice in education, and a more democratic and just future for our peoples.
